Proverbs 13:11-13 (Amplified Bible) Wealth [not earned but] won in haste or unjustly or from the production of things for vain or detrimental use [such riches] will dwindle away, but he who gathers little by little will increase [his riches]. 12 Hope deferred makes the heart sick, but when the desire is fulfilled, it is a tree of life. 13 Whoever despises the word and counsel [of God] brings destruction upon himself, but he who [reverently] fears and respects the commandment [of God] is rewarded.
Hope deferred truly does make the heart sick. I've seen it myself, where there is no hope, no faith and only doubt, worry and disbelief, the end result is heartache. There are many things people hope for, good jobs, great spouses, great kids, etc... The point I'm making is that wherever we rest our hope, that is where it settles, it just gets lodged in good and tight. Is our hope resting on what we ourselves can do? Or is our hope resting on what God can do? Everyone has different needs, and our needs do not shock God or take Him by surprise. He is simply waiting for us to come to Him with our need and ask Him so that He may respond in kind. Where we place our hope makes all the difference between our hopes and dreams being deferred and deepest needs immediately satisfied. Think about it, sometimes what we want isnt always what we need! Selah....
